When most people are redesigning the kitchen one of the things that is usually totally ignored is the type and style of towel racks that you are going to be installing in your kitchen. Towel storage in a kitchen is just as important as it is in the bathroom. Towels are used to wash and dry dishes, pots and pans and utensils and clean spills and messes. The difference between kitchen and bathroom towels is that bathroom towels are generally only a bit damp while kitchen towels will get wet. This means that unless you want mildewed kitchen towels you need to select the best kitchen towel bars.
There are two options as far as style is concerned. Towel bars and towel racks. Both can be either wall attached or free standing, although towel racks have multiple bars to allow you to store more towels. Which one you chose will depend on the amount of room you have and your personal sense of style. Towel bars are also made of many different types of materials. The most common, and probably best for kitchen use, is a ceramic towel rack. A ceramic towel rack is best for kitchen use simply because kitchen towels get a lot wetter than bath towels. Using wood or metal for your kitchen towel rack is just not a good idea. Wood will rot and warp and metal will quickly rust.
But you also have to think about whether you want a towel bar or towel rack. If you use a lot of towels in your kitchen a towel rack would be a great deal better because it not only has multiple bars but the space between the bars is greater than the space between a towel bar and the wall. Even if you have limited space you can use a wall mounted ceramic towel rack.
